Thanks to WNCW for having us in Studio B for a live broadcast Friday. We’ll be helping to celebrate the station’s 21st birthday on a three-day mini-tour in July — five acts in an old-fashioned revue with assorted jams and carrying on.
Friday night in Charlotte we saw something I’d never expected to see: the Double Door Inn, that bastion of conservative blues-barhood, has removed the chairs from in front of its stage to create an open dance floor. People were dancing on it too.
Saturday at Morganton’s Jailhouse Gallery we intended to play a stripped-down acoustic-electric show, but before it was over we unplugged completely and got down front with the audience. What a blast! As Mark says, “I think we’re onto something here.”
