Tom Gray and Mark Johnson have been active together since 2002. Together they play slide guitar like a game. From the Georgia band have appeared two live discs. Life’s A Song – Live Volume One was made during concerts in 2012 in North Carolina, Florida and Georgia. Turn Around When Possible – Live Volume 2 was recorded a year later in Bremen. The recordings in America (almost 75 minutes) show an experienced band that smoothly stretches definitions of blues to make its own voice. Not too different from the standard, but authentic enough. During the concert in Germany the band more clearly leaves the common paths. Far from home they create bluesy Americana in which original songs and covers of bluesmen RL Burnside, Fred McDowell and Skip James are interspersed with Iggy Pop and David Bowie’s “Nightclubbing”.
