    awesome video!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i am from oxford mississippi and i am very excited that you guys will be coming next week to roosters blues house here in town.

I have been following you guys for several years after hearing you on the memphis caravan show after you performed in the blues competition several years ago!!! i have all of your stuff and am hoping you bring some copies of your new album to the show in oxford.

over the past several years, several big name acts have performed at roosters, including ronnie baker brooks, little ed and the blues imperials, charlies musselwhite, jason ricci, eric sardonas, all of the burnsides, and big jack johnson used to play on saturday nights pretty reglularly to name a few off the top of my head……..

looking forward to a great show – hope you guys enjoy oxford!!!!!!!!!

please play this fred mcdowell song since you will be in north mississippi and of course you guys will have to play “jesse mae”……..

    see you next week!!!!

hey mike..ur lucky..u live at pretty much the center of the blues universe in my opinion…i live at the other end of the delta…Minneapolis…i would love to make this show in oxford too..but my gps tells me it’s 904 miles or about 14 hrs and 10 mins…still…i’m thinkin’ about it…please post a comment in case I don’t make it…i pretty much listen to all the folks you mention…especially Lil’ Ed who is the nephew of one of my all time favorite slide masters J.B. Hutto…Ed Heads in the midwest just worship him because he’s the nicest guy you’ld ever meet…and in the old days he would get up on Pookie’s (bass player) shoulder’s while they were playing and walk around the dance floor…a site you can never forget

Just one last thought…we should promote Tom Gray to Colonel Tom Gray in my opinion…ala Colonel Tom Parker of Elvis yore…I figure he deserves it for time served…plus several tours of duty in the European Theatre (WWII vernacular)…plus a Purple Heart recently due to wounds sustained in battle…and of course for quality of performance and just being one talented sum bitch.. ha ha…

by the way…Hellbound Train..i got a signed copy a couple days ago…is just AWESOME!!! GET YOUR HANDS ON IT BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY

Peace and comfort for you and yours….

    hey man, thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ed Heads…iout love that!!!!!!!!!!!!! I actually saw him about this time last year at roosters in oxford…..great show!!!!! and youre right, between sets and after the show he and his band stuck around and shot the breeze with everyone there….i talked with him a long while after the show and the oxford show was the first night of playing for him, before going to florida for a month of shows, a blues cruise, and some festivals….he said it was his first trip there this time of year, and he was really looking forward to it!!!!!!

i will definitely post after the show!!!!!! man, i don’t envy you guys up there in the “Frozen tundra” this time of year!!! i will stick with good ole muddy mississippi!!!

last but not least…..oxford and clarksdale have many good players that are awesome!!!! cedric burnside (holly springs, 28 miles from oxford), and his partner lightnin malcolm (clarksdale) live in the area, and kenny brown, a fantastic blues slide guitar player (he was r.l. burnside’s quitar player for 23 years) lives in nesbit (30 miles north), with a young guitar guy, eric deaton living right here in oxford. oxford also has sweet tea studios which produced the buddy guy album, “Sweet Tea” which was just named as the #1 blues album of the last 25 years (i forgot that jimbo mathis was his guitar player on that album and he also lives in clarksdale..he also went out on tour with buddy for a long while after making that album) and of course the mississippi all-stars, a brother act (luther and cody dickinson) who have several grammy winning records as well as the #13 album on that list, who live in como mississippi (30 miles to the northeast)…..

yes, a great area for blues!!!! come on down and enjoy!!!
